Cleaning your timber front door
Your exterior timber front door will inevitably suffer from wear and tear because of the harsh British elements. The rise and drop of the temperature can cause a neglected door to look tired and worn out. It is important that you clean your door regularly with soapy water and a damp cloth. However, only use mild soap to avoid damage to the finish. If you find that the soapy water has not done a thorough job, use a specialist cleaner for timber before polishing it. A good quality wax furniture polish will do for this.
Sanding and Weather Stripping
Most important is to sand and recoat the protective finish of your door every few years in order to keep it looking new. The timing of this is dependant on how exposed the timber front door is to the weather. Also bear in mind the timber

They are made from a very strong material, and our Garador FrontGuard range offers 12 point security as standard. Furthermore, other security upgrades are available. Thermal Efficiency
Thermal efficiency in doors is indicated by their U value. This indicates how well heat is transferred
through the front door. So, the lower the U value, the more thermally efficient it is. Doors and windows can be responsible for most heat loss from your home. If you wish to reduce your energy costs it’s wise to choose a door with good thermal efficiency. Aluminium front doors are excellent for insulation. Our range is made by Groke. The Groke secure front door has many security options. The standard model Groke door already comes with 3 point locking, hinge bolts to prevent intruders lifting the door off its hinges. Also, you can add any number of high-tech additions that turn alluminium doors into an impenetrable barrier of security. You may upgrade the security with a thicker door with up to 90mm of insulation. Or, you could secure the door with up to 17 point locking. As a point of reference, many doors have just 1 point of locking. All the bolts can be combined with the anti-drill lock to make the door inaccessible to anyone without a key.

Finally, the door keys. Groke doors make the idea of keys seem positively archaic with automatic locking systems and biometric scanners as optional extras.
